LCA Magazines Mother’s Day Soiree Kickoff Party – March 5, 2020

It’s been almost a month since we were ordered to “social distance” and cancel all events.  Before Covid-19 became prevalent in Houston, Ruchi Mukerjee, owner of LCA Magazine, was able to throw her yearly kickoff party on March 5, 2020 at Neiman Marcus.

The "Who's Who" of Houston

Ruchi Mukerjee runs an online and print magazine featuring people of diverse backgrounds.  The Mother’s Day Soiree is special because it connects the different communities across Houston. She selects Mothers of different backgrounds (who have been nominated by their friends, charities, or community members) to walk the runway with their children during Mother’s Day week.  It is a special event for both Moms and their kids.  I was fortunate enough to be nominated last year and had the fabulous experience of walking the carpeted runway with my son, Rafae. As we are approaching May, I felt it only fitting to write about her Kickoff Party.  The Mother’s Day Soiree has been pushed back until September. This year we won’t be experiencing our regular Galas/Charities due to the Coronavirus.

The kickoff party as usual brought out the “who’s who” of Houston along with some new faces.  Ruchi usually dons a Sari or something more ethnic at her events, I was pleasantly surprised to see her in a gorgeous black dress.  Turns out Ruchi wore BCBG, her accessories were by local designer Joubier Joubert. The look was incredible!

The women being honored this year were the fabulous Tracy Faulkner, Teresa Cox Reading, Deepika Agrawal, Khatidja Soofi Vellani, Clare E. Fontenot, Sandra Smith-Cooper, MRosalyn Guzman, Tiziana Ciacciofera Triolo, Shaobo Du, Denise Middleton of Fox 26, and my favorite Wendy Granato, General Manager of ABC 13. All of the ladies looked gorgeous in their Pink dresses!

I hope during this trying time I can bring some sunshine through the pics of the party. Enjoy and stay safe!
